What doesn't kill me - can only make me stronger!

The kids and I hiked to Stewart Falls yesterday and it was absolutely beautiful. The kids had a great time and I felt like it was something out of the ordinary. Sometimes we have to push ourselves out of our comfort zone and not worry so much about everything else that is left a mess (i.e., house, laundry).

This summer has really been a downer for us due to the rain. For families who have outdoor plans, the rain is only torture. But, yesterday was beautiful and I knew that we needed to get out and enjoy the beautiful mountains that are within minutes from us. Bo asked me, "why have we never done this before when we live so close"? I didn't have an answer for him.

With or without Shaun (meaning, I need to be more independent), my children and I will be doing things like this much more often.

Head Shot!

Bo has been dabbling in the modeling and talent industry a little bit. He was signed with the Wilhelmina Agency in SLC. It's a large international agency. They claim he's a natural and was made for this kind of thing. Normally, they ask their clients to go through some training . . . but they think he's ready now, so this means they're just throwing him to the wolves - hoping he gets something soon.

He has auditioned for Fox Televisions new TV series "Diary of a Whimpy Kid" (based on the book) and he has an audition tomorrow for a new film called Anna's Letter - Very family oriented film and filmed here in Utah starting in July. It's a long shot - but still fun to try new things.

Here's a headshot taken by an award winning film photographer. YEAH!
Lot's more pictures to come in a couple of weeks.

Friendly Game of Volleyball!

We had a BBQ at Mitchells for Father's Day and they had set up the volleyball net. Keep in mind, we are not a very athletic family (at least the adults) but we gave it a shot.

Dad, Grandpa, Mom

And this is my battle wound from serving the ball. No pain, no gain!

Petites. . .coming to an end

This year has been an adventure in the World of Dance. I have enjoyed the new studio we joined and have met many very nice moms and girls. She has had the opportunity to perform a total of TEN times this year. Performing is really what she loves to do so that has been rewarding.
Savannah has had some challenges with her level of commitment but seems to be trying harder the older she gets (most days). But how can I expect someone who had just started Kindergarten to take anything seriously? I think each year these little ones age brings more maturity and a desire to be better and try harder. She is aware of when she really does well and she also knows when she has made a mistake and she tries to correct it. I think that says a lot about her.
Alexis and Skylar are very good with Savannah and loving. They see a lot of potential in her and I can only thank them for everything.

Horsin' Around!

This is Cupcake! The "new" horse that we've had for 2 years. I was not thrilled about adding another horse to our family of horses but Shaun felt like Lollipop needed company.
Remind me next time never to let our children
name our animals.

The horse is finally old enough to do something with it so Shaun is starting to work the horse tonight. First time with a riding saddle. . .didn't seem to mind it which is a good sign.
So. . .what the hell - let's just throw Savannah on!!!
"Are we crazy?"
