Hubby Tagged! Thanks Jamie

Name: Shaun Dale Simmons
How long together: Married 13 years this July - friends for 20 years.
How old is he: Shaun is turning 39 is August.
Who eats more: Duh! I eat more times in a day (you can tell) and he eats more off his plate.
Who is smarter: I like this question - ME (of course)
Who does the laundry: Surprising to some - Shaun does the laundry most often.
Dishes: I do the dishes. Even if the dishwasher is empty, Shaun piles them in the sink.
Pays bills: Shaun - he decided he didn't want me anywhere near them.
Mows the lawn: I mow - Shaun edges.
Cooks - that is equal. For me it's something frozen or out of a box - for Shaun it's something extravagant.
Most stubborn: I'm definately the most stubborn - not willing to change my ways.
Admits wrong: Me, never - because I am always right. I'm still trying to convince Shaun.
More friends: Shaun is the most friendly guy you will ever meet. Always wants to be the center of attention. Me - not so much! I usually just piss my friends off. Just
Kidding!
Where did we meet: I returned from traveling abroad (Italy, France, Germany) the summer of 1986 and he was helping my dad build his cabin. Shaun was up on the scaffolding working in the heat while I sat in the truck and blasted the stereo. I remember my dad yelling at me to turn it down in front of Shaun and I was sooo embarrased.
What was the first thing I said about him: Don't look - it's just that kid who works for my dad. I was such a bitch.
Where did we go on our honeymoon: Sante Fe, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon. Took 12 days and we drove - Beautiful screnery.
Who wears the pants:
That is the most obvious question ever!

TAGGED! Thanks Tai

What I was doing 10 yrs. ago: I was anxiously awaiting our home to be completed so that we could move in. Packing up our basement apartment where we lived below Shaun's brother and his family. Feeling a little sad to leave having this been where we started our family. Bo was 1 and very flippin cute! I worked full time (8-5) as an Adm. Secretary for Women's & Children's Services at the hospital and this was difficult - not being able to spend all day with Bo.

5 yrs. ago: Enjoying a brand new little baby girl, recovering from a c/section, getting very little sleep. I was trying to spend quality time with Bo during my maternity leave because he would start Kindergarten in August. Swimming lessons each morning. Most of my mornings were spent bathing Savannah and dressing her as cute as I possibly could with a matching headband of course. I remember puting something on her and then taking it off and trying something else until I found the perfect outfit. I must have had way too much time on my hands. By this time, I had cut my hours at the hospital and was working part time.

1 yr ago: Hauling gravel up to our camp spot at mom and dads cabin property in Fairview. Spreading it to make a fire pit and driveway. Loving all the purple and yellow wild flowers that were everywhere on the mountain. Also building a new deck to park the trailer up against. I know - you are thinking REDNECK! I promise it's not like that - it's really quite nice. I was looking forward to a fun year with Savannah on Micro Starburst. Attending Bo's baseball games (they went to State - go Yankees). I had also started a new job in Labor and Delivery and was working night shift - this sucked!

Yesterday: Cleaned windows, polished furniture, vacuumed beneath couch cushions, cleaned appliances, wiped baseboards, mopped, laundry. Took a break mid-day to talk to Tai and Jenicee. Today - doing the same upstairs - Oh yeh!

5 favorite snax: Strawberries w/whipped cream, Oreo Cakesters, Reeses PB Cookies, Diet Coke, Weight Watches Lemon Cake. MMM, I'm hungry.

5 favorite books: I don't read! I barely made it through the Twilight series - I don't think I finished the last book. I love looking at pictures in the smut magazines and reading hollywood gossip and an occasional Country Living.

5 places I would love to run away to: Walt Disney WORLD (Florida), Carribean Cruise, Grand Canyon on horse back (Havasu Falls), a beautiful wilderness anywhere, a beach.

5 bad habits: My Diet Coke run every morning, swear words, blogging (I've been sitting here an hour), my competitiveness, twisting my hair.

5 things I would never wear: As you can tell, I'm not much for fashion. But I would never wear anything sleeveless, shorts, a bikini (I have a bad scar), skinny jeans (since I'm not skinny), or a scarf. It really is true that I have a desire to wear fashionable clothing but it is difficult to look good when your stubby. I could lose about 35 lbs and feel much better shopping for cute clothes. When and if that ever happens, yer all coming with me on a major shopping spree.

5 pet peeves: Shaun says "Huh?" everytime I ask him something, even if he hears me. I hate having to repeat myself (listen the first time). Bo acting like a wild animal. The horse corral not being clean. Shaun saving things we don't need. Savannah's fingerprints on the glass french door (use the flippin door handle). Savannah's hat is beginning to annoy me - she won't let me do her hair. Shaun whining about my Diet Coke habit. Kids forgetting to flush the toilet. When I say NO to something - don't beg or ask me again. Bo's muddy shoes - every day (I'm not kidding). Oh my - is that more than 5 - I am really annoyed today so you probably shouldn't have asked!

5 things I like to do: CAMP, watch my kids do the things they are good at, BLOG, talk on the phone, ride ATV.

5 favorite TV shows: So You Think You Can Dance, The Batchelor, Extreme Home Makeover, The View, Oprah.

5 famous people I would like to meet: I really don't care to meet anyone famous.

5 friends I am tagging: McKenzie, Meg, Jeanette, Jamie G., Jenicee.

SIMMONS - #6

"SWING at this one, I Dare Ya!"
I know , I know - more baseball pictures. Baseball pretty much consumes us right now. We are at the ballpark 2-3 times per week., but lovin' it. Look at his excellent form. However, I am afraid one of these times he's going to bite his tongue off if he doesn't keep it in his mouth. He licks his lips when he is concentraing - Motorcycles, Baseball, BMX, Homework, etc., oh my.

Camping at Soldier Creek

We had a fun weekend spending time in the outdoors. I loved how green (lime green) and beautiful everything was with the new leaves and blades of grass. Provo Canyon is seriously one of the prettiest canyons I know of. We camped with Aunt Pam & Uncle Jim - McKenzie & Calvin (& friends) - Bridger & Jenn.
This dog of ours is such a loyal companion, more so to Bo than even Shaun. KOTA follows him - or sometimes drags him everywhere they go. Bo had fun throwing sticks into the lake and Kota would take off and swim out to get them (no fear of the water). Sammy, our last dog, wouldn't go near the water.

There were potguts everywhere and Bo was in HEAVEN. Sharp Shooter Bo made a great shot with his bow & arrow from approx. 40 feet. I know it sounds graphic and gross to some, but remember these things are rodents and they make a mess digging holes all over the campground.

We spent a lot of time fishing (I'm the only one who caught a fish), but the fishing wasn't that great so, instead, we decided to trap crawfish. Oh My, those things are disgusting, but Bo & Savannah ate them for lunch. We boiled them up, and Bo said they tasted just like crab. Savannah enjoyed her time fishing with her Disney Princess fishing pole. I'm really not sure that pole could catch a fish but we won't tell her that.

Savannah had fun playing with Saige and Addison - Day In and Day Out. I don't think I seen her more than a few times all weekend, JK. We went for walks and the girls played on the snow drift each day and made sleds out of garbage bags.
Shaun made a MEAN Peach Cobbler Saturday night with his bottled peaches and we sat around the fire and visited.

Great conversation with special family makes for for a GREAT TIME!
