Little Miss Pageant!

Savannah and I recently attended the "Little Miss" pageant that our City holds for young girls ages 10-13ish. It is a wonderful little pageant and I can't wait until Savannah is old enough to participate. These young ladies will have their own float and ride in parades plus attend many events representing our city. We knew several girls in the pageant this year and they all did a really GREAT job.
Afterall, it's the experience itself not whether they win or lose.

"Can't Stop Dancing" DANCE COMPETITION

(Savannah is second from left)

Savannah did a great job on Saturday. Each time she performs the routines get better and better. I love being able to spend this time with her.
\Video of her routines are below. Sorry for the shakiness - I hate trying to record and watch at the same time.

Building A House Unto The Lord!

Over the last several months I have had the privilege of planning the decorating & food for the
West Stake RS Birthday
Lunch & Celebration.
The greatest part about this was to spend some time with my Aunt Pam who Chaired our Committee. She is the most brilliant mind when it comes to creativity. I know that she was inspired to call me to this committee during a time when I needed it the most.
I have been inactive for a while now and have had some trust issues that I have not been able to get passed. I have been burned by sisters in my Ward, those whom I thought were friends too many times to mention. It's easy to give up on Relief Society and the close support people who we all need the most. During this period of inactivity, not one member of our Ward has reached out to us in our greatest time of need. . . It took me a while to realize that it was ME who needed to reach out if I were ever to feel welcome & loved. I need to forget about the past because I need the church more than ever and so do my kids.

Let the creative juices flow. . .We decided to plan around a
construction theme,
Building a house unto the Lord.

"Organize yourselves, prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of order, a house of God."

. . .and TODAY all of our planning came together!

We had old vintage window frames (as if we were looking into a home built unto the Lord) hanging from the walls next to the "blue prints" above representing the 7 things that Pres. Monson stated. As they arrived the picked up their "Time Card" and clocked in ready to build. We had a wonderful lunch break with lunchboxes and all. We had a different vintage tablecloth at each table and handmade flowers that matched the floral print in the tablecloth.

Today I had the opportunity to sit with some Sisters from my Ward who didn't even know who I was. It was nice to introduce myself and get to know them.

I'm sure they are wondering, how is she serving on a Stake RS Committee when she doesn't even come to church??? I wondered that same thing myself, but it has been such a rewarding experience. I have always felt close to the Church in my heart.

"We are builders of eternal houses.
We are apprentices to the trade —
not skilled craftsmen.
We need divine help if we are to build successfully."
- Pres. Thomas S. Monson

American Idol's - Adam Lambert!

He is amazing and so fun to watch. Why isn't he famous already? He definately does not need American Idol to make him a STAR!
He's kind of the "bad boy" of the show, but seems to have his act together
(I think I have a small crush).
If you like Rock, you'll love him!

Dance Competition. . .here we go again!

Savannah had a dance competition this weekend and we had a great time. We enjoyed watching all her friends do their extra numbers on Friday,
GOOD JOB GIRLS!
She regrets not doing a solo as we had planned, but she'll be there next year!

She competed two numbers,
"Mama, I'm a big girl now" &
"Big -n- Chunky"
. . . both were adorable and won FIRST PLACE.
I think "Gloria" the Hippo (from Big -n- Chunky) actually stole the show and got quite the hoorah from the crowd.

"I like 'em Chunky. . .Chunky, Chunky
Plumpy. . .Plumpy, Plumpy" !!!

Proud Mom. . .Proud Little Dancer!
(Proud Brother who sat through 6 hours of dancing)

So much drama. . .

Savannah lost her first tooth last night and you would have thought the world had come to an end.
She knew it was loose and it was coming out soon. It was hanging by a thread so Shaun thought he would help out. She wasn't prepared for what came next . . .Shaun snuck these small needle nose pliers into her mouth and yanked! She was looking up at the cieling and had no idea. Bo thought it was the funniest thing ever. Then came the blood and that was the end of our peaceful evening.
